New Changes: Canada Raises Right of Permanent Residence Fee by 11.65%

Recently, the Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) has announced an increase in immigration fees such as  Permanent Residence Fee, across a variety of categories, effective April 30, 2023. This move is part of the IRCC’s initiative to adjust fees based on inflation, a practice that is anticipated to occur every two years.

Key updates include changes in the cost for various applications, including permanent residence, work permits, and study permits. For instance, the fee for business immigration applicants, including principal applicants and their families in Start-up Visa program has been increased.

The fee increase is part of IRCC’s commitment to aligning application costs with the Consumer Price Index, ensuring the sustainability and efficiency of Canada’s immigration services. This biennial adjustment aims to enhance service delivery, reduce processing times, and improve the overall experience for applicants.
