The Canada Start-up Visa is a program created by the government of Canada for entrepreneurs who wish to start a business in Canada. The program is intended to attract innovative business ideas and entrepreneurial talent from around the world. To qualify for the program, applicants must meet specific criteria, including:
- Having a new innovative business that can scale globally, has the potential to create jobs and become a significant economic contributor in Canada.
- Obtaining a Letter of Support: The applicant must obtain a Letter of Support from a designated organization willing to invest in the business or provide mentorship and support.
- Meeting language requirements: The applicant must demonstrate proficiency in either English or French (CLB5).
With a letter of support, applicants can apply for a work permit to live and work in Canada to build their businesses quickly. The letter of support also allows the applicant to submit a permanent residence visa application to IRCC.
